Weekend, what are you playing?
It's the weekend before E3 and we're all excited for it but that won't stop us from playing games. What are you playing?
Migoy: I'm at my cousin's place and we've been playing Dissidia 012 non stop and since I've got a PSP-3000 now, I don't have to worry about getting disconnected.

Arlie: I've been playing Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 the whole week and I'm just 3 trophies away for a platinum. Playstation Store in the US came back this week and their "Welcome Back" offer is already available. I got Dead Nation and inFAMOUS as my free games. I started playing inFAMOUS this morning, and for my first playthrough I chose to play with good karma. I also played Oddworld: Abe's Odyssey since it's offered free for PS Plus. If you want to play coop with me just add me on PSN: arcanefiraga

Quash: This weekend for me, I'm still playing The Witcher 2: Assassin of Kings and I'm currently in Chapter 2. Looks like I'm in the last line of quests and can move on to Chapter 3 but got sidetracked from the "Welcome Back" package of Sony. For the two free PS3 games, i picked Dead Nation and Super Stardust HD. Dead Nation is actually pretty good, and it being a co-op game makes it even better. Almost finished the game with a friend in one sitting, but I foresee myself playing multiple playthroughs going through each difficulty. Super Stardust HD was also created by the makers of Dead Nation and the gameplay is similar. Only difference is in Super Stardust you control a ship and destroy asteroids and alien ships. Also pretty awesome and addicting.

I love this WLAN switch!
Though I love ol' Phats, many of my PSP-1000 frustrations comes from the design flaw that is the WLAN switch on the side. I'd often just graze it and suddenly get disconnected from a multiplayer game session and in most cases, even with the switch on, the system keeps telling me the switch is off.
With WoL being a PSP-3000 and having almost exactly the same design as the PSP-2000 with it's WLAN switch on top, replacing the old IR spot (which was a stupid idea in the first place) fixes all my gripes with PSP multiplayer.
Finally I can wail away at the buttons without fear of getting disconnected in a game.

Note that my Barts was 10+ levels weaker than the Cloud I was facing. [youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pPF98rmtz8g&w=560&h=349]

Meet my new friend
I just recently got my hands on a PSP-3000 or the PSP 'Brite'. An officemate of mine was selling it for 3500php and it was in extremely good condition. My impulses were telling me to "BUY IT NOW YOU IDIOT! A CHANCE LIKE THIS WON'T POP UP AGAIN!" even though I'll be tight on cash due to end-of-the-month-bills-attack. But hey, a PSP-3000 for just 3500php?
Just to be sure, I tested it out. Games, memory stick reading, button checks, WLAN. They all seem to work fine except for the analog stick which gets double inputs so I won't be able to pull off Lightning's Ex Burst in Dissidia 012.
The faceplate has a few dents on the left side probably due a fall but it doesn't really bother me as it isn't even noticable when looking at it from the front. The housing is done in a nice glossy pearl white finish and there are no signs of paint chipping so this gives me the impression that it's a fairly new purchase by the previous owner.
Aside from the slightly wonky analog stick and a few dings a scratches, it's in really good condition and I'm glad I got it when I did. My current PSP is still the 1000/Fat model so I have a really loose WLAN switch and no ability to hook it up to a TV. With my new PSP-3000, who I have named WoL (Warrior of Light), I now have a significantly brighter screen, TV out, a working WLAN switch, faster RAM and better feeling buttons. Expect to see me playing some PSP games over at www.justin.tv/toomuchgaming or on www.justin.tv/acicon if the TMG JTV is on the fritz. Assuming I get the cables needed anytime soon.
On a side note, look what happened to my shoes that same day I got WoL.
Two Best Friends Play: Punch-Out!! (Punch-Out!! & Super Punch-Out!!)
I had no idea DK was in the Wii version.
Two Best Friends Play: Punch-Out!! (Punch-Out!! & Super Punch-Out!!)
The bond between two best friends can often be stretched to the breaking point as they try to fight off dozens of big sweaty men wearing spandex. Co-op, single player, new, old - it doesn't matter. These best friends will play it all...even if it kills them.
