Shank 2 announced, coming 2012
EA recently held a press conference in Vegas we're Klei Entertainment, the makers of Shank said they were going to announce a new ip, and surprisingly enough, it was Shank 2, the sequel to the 2D side-scrolling with a unique comic book look.
Klei Entertainment is a fairly new company. Aside from Shank, they also created Eets which they self-published and recieved positive reviews. With the success of Shank, and now currently collaborating with EA partners, they have been working on Shank 2 for a year now. Aside from improving visuals, combat, etc for the sequel, they will also include an arcade-style co-op survival mode. Add a friend and survive as long as you came against hordes of enemies.
The official shank website is updated with a Shank 2 blog. Shank 2 will be out for PS3, Xbox 360, and PC in 2012.
Dead Nation gets a new DLC - Road of Devastation
Thanks to Sony's Welcome back package that serves as a sorry to the PSN outage back in May, I was able to get my hands of Dead Nation. It was a great co-op game and it certainly put back a smile in my face after nearly a month of no online service. Now I can consider running Dead Nation again with the announcement of a DLC called Road of Devastation.
Dead Nation was released back in 2010, and with Dead Nation now owned by a lot of PSN users, I guess releasing DLC makes sense. When it gets released, it will only cost you $3.99 which is not a bad deal with the added weapons and enviroments to the game. You're a soldier waking up in a lab that was trying to make you the ultimate soldier. You are given choices which will lead you to what kind of environments you'll be in and enemies you'll face.
Dead Nation was loads of fun, and with a $3.99 price point, it seems worth the purchase. You can never get enough killing zombies if you ask me.
Star Wars: The Old Republic gets a release date
One of the most anticipated MMO's has finally received a release date. Was expecting a longer wait sometime next year, but looks like there will be a new big MMO to try out before the end of the year.  Bioware has been patient with the development of their first MMORPG, which is great, so I'm really hoping that this triple A MMO will be as ground breaking as they say.Â
Update your calendars, Star Wars: The Old Republic comes out on December 20 and December 22 for Europe. They also announced the payment fees:
- 1 Month Subscription: $14.99 (£8.99/€12.99)
- 3 Month Subscription: $13.99 per month (one-time charge of $41.97/£25.17/€35.97)
- 6 Month Subscription: $12.99 per month (one-time charge of $77.94/£46.14/€65.94
Each copy of Star Wars: The Old Republic will have a 30 day free subscription, just like any other MMO. After that, you'll have to go with either one of the 3 options after the free month.
The game looks pretty sweet, but the fact that the gameplay feels a bit similar to other big MMO out now leaves me worried. Is the solid story telling enough to give Bioware a successful MMO title? well, we got only months left to find out.

PS3 players will get Battlefield 3 DLC first, Open Beta also announced
While Xbox 360 players get first access to Call of Duty DLC, Battlefield 3 DLC will be released in the PS3 a week earlier before the Xbox 360. A week isn't so bad compared to Call of Duty: Black Ops DLC getting released on the Xbox 360 a month earlier.
Tommy Rydling, junior product manager for Battlefield 3 announced it on the official Playstation Blog. Whats the first DLC? it's called Back to Karkand and is said to be released sometime this year. The DLC will provide 4 famous maps from Battlefield 2. I was expecting this to happen for the PS3 since Xbox 360 is already all over the Call of Duty franchise, but this 1 week early access is honestly nothing to the 1 month early access in the Xbox 360 for Black Ops. With Modern Warefare 3, I Wouldn't be surprised if they continue releasing DLCs to 360 players a month earlier. This isn't the only news from the post, they also announced that the open beta of Battlefield 3 will be out on the PSN for download. The Open Beta starts on September 29th to October 10th.
If you actually purchased the Limited Edition of Medal of Honor then you can get into the Open Beta a week earlier. So owners of the Limited Edition can test Battlefield 3 on September 27, 2 days earlier.
There will only be one map I believe for the Open Beta, and that will be Operation Metro, the map they always use to show off the multiplayer part of Battlefield 3.
Battlefield 3 will be out on October 25 in NA, 27 for Australia, and 28 for Europe. With Datablitz having pre-orders for Battlefield 3, the game release for the Philippines will be Oct 25.

Mega LOL to early Dark Souls players
So Dark Souls just came out in Japan today but some gamers have gotten early access to the game and started showing it off as soon as they got it. Those gamers got a little bit of a surprise.
Developers of Dark Souls, From Software, unleashed some max-level Black Phantom into the game so that these early players can confront them early and just outright annihilate them.
From this screenshot, the Phantoms are at level 145 with 1900 HP with every stat set to 99. Well played , From Software. Well played indeed.
