Shuma-Gorath and Jill Valentine Reveal Trailers

"Birth giving stance?"

Well they're finally here. The (first?) two DLC characters for Marvel vs. Capcom 3.  Jill sporting her RE5 look with a very dynamic (and strange) idle stance. Now I don't know if all her moves got a complete overhaul but from the looks of it most are new. MvC2 loyalists might not like the new Jill but I'm sure they'll still fork out the dough to try her out.

Shuma still has one eye and still has tentacles. No doubt a favorite since he's been present in all MvC titles so far. His smug cross armed taunt looks better than ever in 3D and the chaos dimension still looks to deal a lot of damage.

People who purchased the Special Edition of the game will have early access to these two DLC characters and depending on if they like em could have the competitive edge when battling other players. Others will have to wait until Capcom gives the two characters a regular release.

PS:

5 bucks per character? DLC rape.

Minecraft Guys Working On A New Game

Mojang, developer of the indie hit Minecraft, is working on a new game called Scrolls. A digital card game / board game mash-up announced by Markus 'Notch' Persson at GDC 2011.

Scrolls is set to be a collectible card game with board game-esque element. Players will build decks of 'scrolls' and use spells and summons to battle against their opponents.

Jakob Porser is the lead designer and Penny Arcade's Jerry Holkins is working with Mojang on developing the story. The available cards will change constantly as new packs are released, and players will be required to adapt with the changes and build new decks accordingly.

The playing area will resemble a chess board, with a grid laid out on which to implement your scrolls. The object of the game is to attack your opponent, and bring his or her health down to zero.

Scrolls can be used to attack or defend -- however, they are dispensable in action, as destroying your opponent's units will not directly harm your opponent. Hence, the idea is to break through his or her line of defense and attack their "king," in terms of chess.

Players will shuffle their decks at the beginning of each game, and so will have no idea what order the cards will come out in. At the start of each turn, one new scroll is lifted from the deck and placed in your hand, ready for use on the battlefield.

A single-player campaign will be included, allowing players the opportunity to build up their decks and learn the ins and outs of the game.

However, the main focus will be on the online multiplayer aspects. Players will battle one on one against each other, with both friendly and ranked matches available.

Mojang are hoping to hold huge online world championships for the game, and are currently looking for a big sponsor for the league.

Other than battling, players will also be able to visit the online auction house, where they can buy or sell cards to and from other players.

Apparently Jakob Porser and Minecraft creator Markus Persson had already brainstormed the idea of Scolls five year ago.

A private alpha build is planned, and will be made available later this year. The opportunity to join the alpha will be offered to a number of people who bought the original Minecraft alpha. An open beta is then planned. Neither the alpha or beta builds will cost money, and will instead help the Mojang team to balance the cards and determine how the online play will work. Only the multiplayer elements will be available in these builds.

There's actually going to be a Risen 2?!

It's not a bad thing that there's going to be a second, it's actually a good thing. Risen is an Open world RPG that was released in 2009 for the PC and Xbox 360 and received decent reviews from metacritics.I played it myself  and needed an RPG fix at the time. Dragon Age: Origins was still a month away and i was needed a filler to keep me busy while waiting. I wasn't expecting anything from this game but it surprised me just like how Two Worlds 2 did. It's a pretty decent RPG with minor flaws that didn't break the experience.

Risen 2 is being developed by Piranha Bytes and confirmed that it will be out on Xbox 360, PC and Playstation 3. Risen 2: Dark Waters is set several years after the end of Risen. Titans have devastated the world and pushed humanity to the brink of existence. Creatures have emerged from the sea and stopped poor boats from doing their business. You, the hero, must set out to stop the chaos.

Player choices will have an impact on progression and will unlock certain paths and will also affect certain features and additional skills your character can learn. There will also be an interactive environment and a full day/night-cycle affecting countless aspects of the game world.

Quite promising. They have no definite date but Risen 2: Dark Waters is aiming for a 2011 release on Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.
