Sonic Generations Gameplay Trailer

After the teaser video that SEGA released not so long ago, we now have gameplay footage of the upcoming game Sonic Generations. A Sonic game which features both the green eyed modern Sonic and the stubby fat Classic Sonic.

From the looks of it, the game uses the same engine from Sonic Colors. A mix of both fast paced 2D and 3D gameplay which I think worked well in Sonic Colors. I'm sure some of you speculated that since the game has 2 Sonics in it, that it would be a co-op game. The trailer shows no signs of co-op gameplay and if you notice, Classic Sonic did not have a shot of 3D gameplay nor the ability to boost.

As to how both Sonic will interact in the game is still unknown. We just have to wait for further news from SEGA.

Hyped about Resident Evil 4

I've had Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition for quite some time now but I haven't really played it past the first house. I've always heard great things about this game and I've wanted to play it since it was a Gamecube exclusive back when it was first released.

I just can't get to playing a game until I really sink my teeth into it. I can get going and play for hours straight if I'm enjoying it but once I stop, at time I find it so difficult to just boot the game again. I'm just weird like that, plus having a day job eat 9 hours of my life 5 days a week doesn't help either.

However, after watching this video, I want to run home right now, boot the game and swear a whole lot while laughing my ass off. If there's anything that can get you hyped about playing a game, its stuff like this. Thank you youtube. And thank you Machinima for getting these two guys to make this series.

PokéWalker more accurate than other pedometers

Evaluated against two other dedicated pedometers, the Pokéwalker - an add-on device for the HeartGold and SoulSilver Pokémon titles - is the most accurate device for counting steps, according to researchers at Iowa State University.

The results were presented recently at an experimental biology conference by Lorraine Lanningham-Foster, an Iowa State professor who has been studying the Pokéwalker's usefulness since its release. This study, which found the Pokéwalker most accurate counting steps taken on a treadmill at four different speeds, is a first step in ongoing research on the device, and how it encourages physical activity among kids.

"Pokémon is a big toy for kids," Lanningham-Foster said. "And that's why I was so interested in it is the idea that we have yet another active gaming format for kids."

If you're thinking this research is being funded by Nintendo, nope; it's funded by Iowa State's Nutrition and Wellness Research Center.

Weekend, what are you all playing?

The weekend graces us once more. Time for excessive and uninterrupted grinding, multiplayer fun (online and local), training mode for all you fighters out there. Tell us, what are you playing?

Migoy: Been kind of a slow week for me when it comes to video games but I have indulged myself into some more Dissidia 012 Duodecime: Final Fantasy. Beat  the stories of Tidus and Zidane. Grinded a bit doing some party battles and started Bartz's story. Though the game is for the most part very similar to the first Dissidia, if you've played the first game as much as I have, the differences and tweaks in the new game are enough for you to notice them and change the way you play. It's a great game and encourage you all to try it, especially if you are a Final Fantasy fan. Cross-over stories are mostly bollocks but c'mon, who doesn't want to see Cloud face off against Squall?

Quash:

Finally reached level 30 in DC Universe Online. now the grinding begins getting the best gear possible to be able to join raids and certain alerts. This is where i find out if DC Universe Online is worth the buy. Leveling was actually a blast since mostly everything is voiced and you get to fight alongside your favorite Heroes/Villains. But the real test for any MMO is if the end-game is worth the $15 dollar monthly subscription. So far i did a few duos( an instance that requires only two players) so i can't say for sure yet if end-game content is good. I still have a few weeks left in my free month so we'll see.

Two Worlds 2 expansion: Pirates of the Flying Fortress announced

Uh yea i guess Topware isn't done with Two Worlds 2. The game is huge and they decided to make it even bigger by releasing an expansion pack. Apparently Two Worlds 2 did really well for them since a third is planned and now this. The Two Worlds site mentions that the expansion will be adding new content, weapons, added weather effects like thunder and rain storms, added animations and a lot more. It will be released as a multi platform title and is aiming for a September 2011 release.

Two Worlds 2 is an open world RPG similar to Elder scrolls but played in third person. The unique feature in Two Worlds 2 is their customization from improving equipment by adding extra effects to creating your own magic spell. It was a good RPG and has a crazy amount of content that you can just spend 50+ hours if you do most of the side quests.

I  did a review of  Two Worlds 2 and was fun while it lasted, but I'm not sure if i want to spend for an expansion pack. We'll see when we hear more info about it.
