The NGP gets a name

Sony's NGP (Next Generation Portable)Apparently people have found the name in the HTML source code of Sony's official E3 website. The successor to the PSP will be named "PS Vita". Vita is an Italian word meaning 'life' or something like that. To me it sounds like an expensive cracker or like a terrace or whatever.

These are still just rumors but if it's real, I'm gonna call it PSV, not PS Vita. Why not just call it PS Life or something? I guess Sony wants it to sound classier while still being completely gay inspired.

Even though it has a stupid name... I still want it.

Playstation Store is back!

The Playstation Store is finally back for us to spend our money on after Sony was hacked back in April and compromised over 1 million user accounts. The Welcome back Package is still not live so don't rush to your PS3's to download your freebies. Sony says the package is on it's final testing stages and will be out soon enough.

For now, head over the PlayStation Blog to see whats new in the Playstation Store. With almost 2 months of being offline, the Store has been updated with loads of new content to browse.

There have been reports though that as you browse through or start downloading content you get error code “80710D36”. Nick Caplin, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) communications boss has issued a statement on the matter, stating, "There are so many of you accessing the store at the moment that due to the excessive load, it is a little slow."

I too have experienced this error just by browsing the Store. it's understandable since millions of players are inside the Playstation Store downloading and buying content.

What's the first thing your going to do when you enter the Playstation Store? me I'm currently trying to redeem my "Naked City" free DLC for L.A Noire but getting the error code “80710D36”. Dammit Sony!

Batman: Arkham City - Catwoman Trailer

Batman: Arkham Asylum was an amazing Batman game(best one even) and I'm sure all of you can't wait to control batman again but this time going around Gotham City. Arkham City will be bigger and better than the first and we also get to control Catwoman in some parts of the game.

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XzXqNZEL5Fc&feature=player_embedded]

Arkham City will be around 40 hours long, 25 hours for the main story and 15 side quests and collectable to gather. Compared to Arkham Asylum, yes it's definitely huge and Catwoman just might be the perfect ice breaker to give something different during this lengthy game. They say Catwoman is only about 10% of the game and i think thats just enough.

Batman: Arkham City will be out on PS3 Xbox 360 and PC on Oct 18.

I love this WLAN switch!

Though I love ol' Phats, many of my PSP-1000 frustrations comes from the design flaw that is the WLAN switch on the side. I'd often just graze it and suddenly get disconnected from a multiplayer game session and in most cases, even with the switch on, the system keeps telling me the switch is off.

With WoL being a PSP-3000 and having almost exactly the same design as the PSP-2000 with it's WLAN switch on top, replacing the old IR spot (which was a stupid idea in the first place) fixes all my gripes with PSP multiplayer.

Finally I can wail away at the buttons without fear of getting disconnected in a game.

Meet my new friend

"Shine brightly"

I just recently got my hands on a PSP-3000 or the PSP 'Brite'. An officemate of mine was selling it for 3500php and it was in extremely good condition. My impulses were telling me to "BUY IT NOW YOU IDIOT! A CHANCE LIKE THIS WON'T POP UP AGAIN!" even though I'll be tight on cash due to end-of-the-month-bills-attack. But hey, a PSP-3000 for just 3500php?

Just to be sure, I tested it out. Games, memory stick reading, button checks, WLAN. They all seem to work fine except for the analog stick which gets double inputs so I won't be able to pull off Lightning's Ex Burst in Dissidia 012.

The faceplate has a few dents on the left side probably due a fall but it doesn't really bother me as it isn't even noticable when looking at it from the front. The housing is done in a nice glossy pearl white finish and there are no signs of paint chipping so this gives me the impression that it's a fairly new purchase by the previous owner.

"Kangeki no hikari!"

Aside from the slightly wonky analog stick and a few dings a scratches, it's in really good condition and I'm glad I got it when I did. My current PSP is still the 1000/Fat model so I have a really loose WLAN switch and no ability to hook it up to a TV. With my new PSP-3000, who I have named WoL (Warrior of Light), I now have a significantly brighter screen, TV out, a working WLAN switch, faster RAM and better feeling buttons. Expect to see me playing some PSP games over at www.justin.tv/toomuchgaming or on www.justin.tv/acicon if the TMG JTV is on the fritz. Assuming I get the cables needed anytime soon.

On a side note, look what happened to my shoes that same day I got WoL.
