Weekend, what are you playing?

So it's the first weekend of August, but that's not relevant to this post. What matters is what YOU are playing this weekend. So, what are you playing?

Migoy: Played a bit of Dragon Ball Z: Infinite World with my cousin, slept through most of my Saturday and did a little bit of Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law. Also got Dragon Ball Kai: Ulimate Butoden on my DS and hot damn that game is fun. If only it were in English.

Quash: Before I headed out for editing work, I was able to finish Alan Wake today. Will start writing a review about it soon. Aside from that, more Halo: Reach multiplayer. Not done with the campaign yet, damn multiplayer is addicting.

Since you pre-ordered your copy, you get a Steel Bookcase and the Physical Warfare Pack that includes- Exclusive Type 88 LMG with Bipod, Exclusive Flechette Ammo for DAD-12 Shotgun, Exclusive Flash Suppressor for SKS Sniper Rifle, and Day 1 Access to the DAD-12 Shotgun.

All you have to do to pre-order is head over to any Datablitz branch and cough up a down payment of P1,000 if your going for the PS3 or Xbox 360 copy, or P500 if it's the PC before October 24, 2011. Don't keep the stub for long because it will only last from October 25 to  November 13. Just get it on day 1 to be sure.

Going to do my pre-order as soon as I get some free time this weekend. Since a lot of my friends are excited for Battlefield 3, and are mostly PS3, I'll definitely get the PS3 version. Oh the hype!

Twisted Metal Delayed to early 2012

Originally placed for an October 4 release, David Jaffe(creator of the series) just announced that Twisted Metal will be delayed and will be released in early 2012. That's a huge push back.  Jaffe said the game is just "not ready". I guess we'll just have to wait till next year for Sweet tooth, Calypso and the rest to return.

“With Twisted Metal we plan to ship a multiplayer classic. We plan to ship the best Twisted Metal ever made. We plan to convert a lot of folks who think vehicle combat is a relic best left to 90′s nostalgia. And we plan to explode the belief that the only relevant kind of shooter is a first person one. Most importantly, we plan on treating you – the kind folks who play our game (and pay our bills) – like the VIPs that you are. You only deserve our best and we appreciate your understanding as we take a little more time to guarantee that our best is what we deliver.”

I understand delays to have more time for polish and adjustments but from October to early 2012? how incomplete was it?! I guess they threw that October 4 date and challenged themselves to reach that due date, or was it Sony rushing it out the door?

When it comes to these delays, instead of getting bummed out, I just think of the game being a better one because of it, well hopefully that will be the case for Twisted Metal.
