Weekend, what are you playing?
It’s the last weekend of November, a month filled with so many great releases, you probably have a few of eating your game time right now. What are you playing?
Migoy: Started The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword and I’m just 1 hour in. Link is not even wearing his signature green outfit yet and I am currently looking for my bird.. Yeah. Downloaded a bunch of demos on my PS3, Ziggy, and played a few of them on our twitch.tv channel. Among them were 2 of EA’s skateboarding games, Skate 2 and Skate 3. Tried them out in order and Skate 3 is the superior game in terms of controls, graphics and even the features available in the demo. Also got in some late night Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Played a few online matches with a friend and then went off to try a ranked match only to get my ass whooped. Hey, at least I got to take out 2 of his characters with a Nemesis loop.
Watch live video from Too Much Gaming on Justin.tvArlie: Skyrim! My aim this week was to finish Skyrim (the main story quests) but I failed. There's just too many things left to do. I'm almost 120 hours in game on my PS3. The PS3 frame rate issue for Skyrim limits me to play for 2 hours per session before the lag becomes unplayable. I hope the upcoming patch will fix this issue. I will definitely sell my copy if the issue will still not get fixed.
Quash: Played a couple of games this weekend. Of course, Skyrim is still around but I've also revisited Gears of War 3 for some multiplayer. Gears 3 is seriously a good game, it just takes too long to get a match going. I also bought Super Meat Boy for like $5 bucks thanks to the Fan Appreciation Sale. its original price was at $15 so it bought it right away, and it was worth it. A pain in the ass but an amazing platformer.
Awesome digital sales to check out now for PSN, Xbox Live and Steam
If you still want to buy some games for cheap, I think the best time is now. Regardless of the platform; Xbox Live, PSN Store, and Steam is showing awesome sales this week. If you have the spare change to buy games/add ons online, check out what's on sale.
Why are there big sales happening? well because it's Black Friday in the states, and Xbox Live PSN and Steam is no exception. We don't have Black Friday, and I'm okay with it because I really don't want to fight for specific 50% off games over a 12-year-old.
Xbox Live
The marketplace is having this Fan Appreciation Sale that started on Tuesday with special one-day offers on Fridays and Mondays.
The week sale will happening from 22-28, it's 26 now so you better check out what's worth buying, especially the friday only and monday only sales:
One-Week Sale Page 1 One-Week Sale Page 2
Friday only sales
The one's worth mentioning for me is Super Meat Boy which is on sale for 400 MS Points($5) down from 1,200 MS Points(I bought this game without hesitation) The Baconing which is now half the price(600 MS Points) if you want a Diablo-ish style of gameplay, and Marvel vs Capcom 2 down to 320 MS because MvC 2 is never a wrong choice.
PSN Store
For Playstation Store, they have the Winter Sale.Which I believe is worth looking at thanks to a sale on Limbo, Outland, and Gatling Gears

Nothing beats local multiplayer
With everything connected to the internet, from cellphones to toilets, communation today was very different from what I grew up with.
People playing video games with each other from the comforts of their own home is a very normal thing nowadays. I was never really an online player, mainly because I didn't have the right tools to do so, but during my NES, SNES and PS1 days me and my neighbors would go to each others houses to play video games. If it wasn't a fighting game of some of the few good co-op games, we'd go just to watch and help them play an RPG or a single player adventure game.
Local gaming is at it's best when playing a fighting game. Most fighting games in this day and age require precise inputs, movements and timing but when played online the slightest input lag can determine the winner from the loser.
Me and my cousin finally got to play Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 together and with me getting a 2nd controller just the other day was perfect. Here is the broadcast footage of the fights. We are in no way pros in this, you couldn't even call use casuals but we enjoy a good air combo or two.
EA giving BF 3 PS3 players a copy of Battlefield 1943 after all
Just when I was about to retire for the day, something interesting has come up. EA is finally living up to their promise a few months back, each player who owns a Playstation 3 version of Battlefield 3 will get a free digital copy of Battlefield 1943 by simply activating your online pass. They say there was a "Misunderstanding" over the affair but we know what really happened.
To get everybody updated: EA announced way back that each Playstation 3 copy of battlefield 3 will come with a free copy of Battlefield 1943, all was happy with the news. Release day comes, and the free copy that was promised was nowhere to be found. It was later announced that instead of giving a free copy of Battlefield 1943, they would give PS3 players access to DLC a week earlier. Access to DLC a week in advance or a free full game? yep, complete rip-off.
With EA taking back that promise of a free game, they now have a case filed on them for not living to that promise. Ouch. Legal firm Edelson McGuire has filed a class-action lawsuit against EA on behalf of consumers who were promise a free copy of Battlefield 1943. The free copy of a full game is a strong incentive to choose the PS3 version over other versions of the game, for them to take back that promise after consumers have bought the game is the issue here. The firm also claims that EA has misled their costumers to buy the PS3 version for an exclusive content they were not planning to provide in the end. They announced the change of exclusive content on the PS3 version via Twitter after the release of the game.
A few days have passed since the case was filed and EA announces that they will be releasing the said Exclusive content to owners of the PS3 version of Battlefield 3 after all. Funny how everything turns out.
They have released the date to when we can redeem our free copy. Europe gets first dibs on November 26 with North America to follow on December 10. Asia and Japan will get it last on December 17(dammit! why we always last!) If you have a copy of Battlefield 3, you can get your instructions on how to get your free Battlefield 1943 copy here.

The bluest sky is infinitely high and crystal clear
What's better than one controller? Two controllers. I was on a quest, to find a PlayStation-to-USB controller adapter from CDR-King (a local electronics shop) so that I can connect a PS2 controller to act as a 2nd controller on Ziggy (my PS3) but alas, I had failed that quest.
I went to 3 different CDR-King branches, waited in line for God knows how long in each branch only to find out that "sir, out-of-stock". I'm a bit tight on cash but I made the decision that if I can't find that PS2-to-USB adapter thing that I would man-up and just buy a PS3 controller.
And I did. I went to Datablitz in Megamall and they had a small selection of controllers. Originally I was planning on getting a simple black colored controller and save getting different colored ones for the 3rd and 4th. However, I spotted a clear red one at the edge of the pearl coated controllers. I took a look at it and asked if they had more colors, the clerk wasn't sure.

Always been a fan of clear PlayStation controllers. Even back in the original Dualshock days of the original PlayStation, I always found em sexy. A neighbor of mine had one in clear green. I caved and decided to get the clear red one, the clerk then went to check the older stock for one with a fresher looking box, the one on display was a bit on the dirty side. I followed and asked just one more time if they had a controller in blue, lucky for me that was the first one she pulled out. A huge smile went on my face and voila, I am a proud owner of a clear cosmic Dualshock 3. I also got a new USB cable since none of the controllers come with any and I'm running short on that kind of USB cable.
Why did I get a 2nd controller so soon despite being short or cash? It's Marvel baby! Also, I just thought up a name for it (usually when I name things, I tend to take better care of them). Call him DiEnd, pronounced like "The End".
