New Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City Trailer That Needs Your Attention
Capcom just released a lengthy CG trailer with the USS and Spec-Ops soldiers meeting for the first time. A full on gunfight starts and it becomes a three-way fight between the USS, Spec-Ops and the infected. It clocks at five minutes and its a trailer worth watching. Who would have thought all this happening during Resident Evil 2?
The game will be out on March 20, 2012 for Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. Its a four player co-op game with players able to run and shoot for the first time in a Resident Evil game. Still not sure if I want this game, but the trailer sure got me thinking about it.
Total Game Time for 2012
A brand new year and a brand new start to just about anything. A perfect time for fresh ideas to be made and executed.
So Quash had this idea about timing each of our game sessions and sum it up to see just how many hours we spend playing video games in a whole year. Quash is doing an overall game time which can be seen on the sites sidebar. I have taken it a step further by creating a an online spreadsheet on Google Docs which I log in the game time as well the game title and what platform I am playing it on.
Counted by hours, minutes, and seconds which is then added together for an over all gameplay time per day then eventually an over all game time count for the month and finally (when I get down to inputting all the days of the year) an over all count for the year.
For monitoring measures I just use an app on my cellphone which I turn on when I start a game and stop when I know I'm really done for that moment/session. This applies to all home console games, PC games, portable handheld games, and maybe even mobile games. I've missed a few minutes of game time because I sometimes forget to turn on the timer, I've probably lost around 2 hours or less, but as am trying to make it a habit so that starting and stopping the timer will become second nature.
You can view my spreadsheet here. I try to update it as often as I can so more often than not there will be daily updates on it and the fact that it's online, I have access to it as long as there is an internet connection.
In case you missed it:
CD-RKing Gaming Capture Box (Addendum)
After spending some time with the program that came with the capture device. I took a few screen shots, and recorded some videos using each of the formats available. Here are the results.
Video
For the videos I played Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 because that game can have so much stuff happening on screen at the same time while being so vibrant makes it fitting for a video test to see if the hardware or software chugs.
H264
iPod (High)
iPod (Low)
PSP (High)
PSP (Low)
DVD
MPEG1
MPEG2
VCD
Screenshots
As for the screenshots, I took some screens in UMvC3 and Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2.
Note: The TV I was using during the capture of these videos and images was a Panasonic CRT TV. I have not yet confirmed if the image quality would look better if captured while playing on an HDTV.
Final Fantasy XIII-2 Demo hitting PSN and Xbox Live Next Week
Not sure if you want to play Final Fantasy XIII-2? Well a demo is coming to let you decide before release. The demo is hitting PSN and Xbox live next week.
It was officially announced by Square Enix that a demo was coming. The demo will be out on January 11 for free on the PS3 and Xbox 360. While I'm not that excited for Final Fantasy XIII-2's release, I'll still give the demo a try. You never know, feeling the changes done to the game first-hand might get me interested in the end... but I doubt it.
Final Fantasy XIII-2 will be out on Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 on January 31, 2012.
