Skyrim Creation Kit powered by Steam Workshop, out February 7
Still playing Skyrim? Sure you are. While the game is exactly the same for all platforms, the one thing that keeps the PC different from the rest is the option to mod your world of Skyrim. There are tons of mods out there now that fix a variety of issues in the game, but now the modding community can really shape the world with the release of the Skyrim Creation Kit. Out on February 7 for free to the PC community, tons of content and mods will be created with this kit. Thank you Bethesda, now I'll have to buy the PC copy.
Thanks to Steam's support, modding your game is now easier than ever. With Steam Workshop, it will be easier now to navigate the various mods that will be out in the net and you can easily install, delete, and even rate the mod in Steam Workshop. It's pretty neat and you have no idea how tempted I am to buy the PC version just so I can improve my Skyrim game.
Everybody knows Bethesda games come out better thanks to the modding community. If you get the right mods for games like Fallout or any Elder Scrolls game, the experience will be completely different. Now with the actual kit that created the game is on the way, whatever mods we see now will be nothing compared to the mods that will be released in the next few months.
Final Fantasy XIII-2 - Lightning and Master Sergeant Amodar DLC Trailer
Pretty sure everybody is going through Final Fantasy XIII-2's main story right now. if your liking it so far then this might excite you. DLC will be present in this Final Fantasy game and Square Enix released a trailer showing its content. It's an extra Coliseum Battle against Lightning himself and Master Sergeant Amodar. If you win the battle, you get Lightning as a playable character.
"Lightning and Master Sergeant Amodar" DLC will be out on February 7 for $2.99. Three bucks for an extra character? Doesn't sound too bad. The Lightning in the DLC seems to be the Lightning in the first game. I just wished Square would just give players a third character to begin with. Final Fantasy and Pokemon don't mix well for me.
Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning Launch Trailer
Thanks to the demo, I am official hyped. Kingdoms of Amalur is a week away, so the people at EA released a launch trailer of this fable meets Elder Scrolls RPG.The launch trailer talks about how big the world is and the game's fast paced combat.
Kingdom's of Amalur is mostly compared to Elder Scrolls: Skyrim thanks to it having a world filled with quests and dungeons to explore, but what takes it apart from other RPG's is the combat. The game is still an action RPG at heart. No turn based combat, or constantly pressing R2 for an attack. want an idea of combat? check this other video to see what I'm babbling about.
Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning is out on February 7 for the Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.
Motal Kombat Vita Gameplay and Features
Mortal Kombat for the PS Vita just got announced a while back which surprised a lot of people since the latest Mortal Kombat is still a fairly new game. Some gameplay footage along with information about some of its new features has just surfaced and it's looking pretty good.
The Vita version will have all the characters and costumes (DLC included) from the its HD counterpart with a few obvious downgrades in terms of textures and graphics. Even with the portable downgrade, the game still looks incredible and is said to run at a solid 60 frames per second. Gameplay still looks as solid as the home console version and the new "gimmick" features that uses the front touchscreen and the accelerometer actually look fun.
Some of the new features that were revealed was an option to use the touchscreen for performing fatalities, this was not something that they needed to add but it's nice that it's in there. Another new feature that was included is a new challenge tower that will have challenges that cleverly takes use of the Vita's technology such as using the accelerometer to balance your character so that they don't fall in a pit of death, wiping the blood off the screen while in battle, or fending off incoming missiles during a heated match.
Touchscreen and accelerometer gimmicks are usually an afterthought and end up not really adding much to the overall game or sometimes even hinder the experience. NetherRealm is actually incorporating a lot of really neat ideas into this portable bloodbath and quite frankly I am excited to see what the final product will be.

The Last Story trailer... in English?!
Can it be? Are we going to get The Last Story in English? Please let it be true!
The Last Story, created by the father of Final Fantasy himself Hironobu Sakaguchi, is one of the "Swords" from Operation Rainfall (a community formed to supposed the internation localization of 3 Japanese Wii games).
Xenoblade got a European release and will soon get an American release in April, 2012. Now that is all well and good and I will definitely find a way to score myself a copy of Xenoblade but The Last Story was the top game that I wanted localized from the 3 game being pushed by Operation Rainfall. With this English trailer it looks like I'm getting my wish. I hope that Pandora's Tower also gets localized because I am also very interested in that game.
