Out Now - Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City
Tons of games just came out this week and last week. Today, Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City was released on time in the Philippines. When me and my friend heard it was on stock, we quickly got a copy and cost us only P 1,995 for the PS3 Region 3 copy.
I'm a couple of hours in but already I can tell this is really about the multiplayer. It's fun as long as your with actual people(AI sucks). The AI reminded me of Capcom's other co-op game Lost Planet 2, so you should have an idea on how bad ally AI is in this game. Another problem is the cover system which I tend to avoid altogether. The whole auto cover just bothers the hell out of me.
No reviews yet for Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, which is suprising cause you usually have at least one review out before release. This buy was literally a blind purchase.
So far, I'm having a trip with friends. I'll cut this post short and start killing more zombies.
Kingdoms of Amalur The Legend of Dead Kel DLC Trailer
Kingdoms of Alamur: Reckoning is around two months old and already they are releasing some meaty DLC. When I say meaty, a DLC that's actual Downloadable content. Not the skin or weapon DLC's we see too damn often nowadays. Check out the trailer for the DLC "The Legend of Dead Kel".
The Downloadable content seems to pit the fateless one against pirates, well dead ones. The content will include new weapons, new Twists of Fate, enemies, and a new area filled with quests.
The Legend of Dead Kel will be available for download on March 20 for Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. If the price is decent, I might consider buying the DLC to have extra stuff to do in Kingdoms of Alamur.
Skyrim 1.5 update brings killcams for ranged and magic
The 1.5 update for Skyrim will be adding something interesting. Instead of the usual bug fixes that comes with updates, this one in particular adds new features to the game. When the update goes live, you will have kill cams for your bows, magic, and more melee kill moves.
The update is now live in Steam for beta testing and will be live soon for all platforms. I've set aside Skyrim for now, but with the strong support from the game's community and the devs themselves, the games slowly evolving making me consider to go for another playthrough. Check out the sneak peek of the update.
Check out Bethesda's blog for the release notes of update 1.5. If you have Skyrim on the PC, you can test the 1.5 update in the beta right now, just follow the instructions after the release notes.
Weekend, what are you playing?
Already half-way through March and nearing the 4th month of the year. Time flies when you're playing video games. What are you playing?
Migoy: After being sick for a week, I haven't really sat down and played anything for what seems like forever. It seems like the sick is out of my system now and I spent my Saturday afternoon over at TupaSheep's house. We played Street Fighter x Tekken as a team in two runs through arcade mode. After that we took the battle online and trolled a few players with some Hugo and Mega Man antics, it was hilarious. I gotta say, the netcode for Street Fighter x Tekken seemed very good. It has the rollback like code similar to GGPO where some moves would seem like they hit but would then "rollback" and actually show that it didn't. Had an Akuma that was warping around on screen like a laggy monster but that's ok. Playing online was good fun. Afterwards, we did a few matches in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 since TupaSheep bought all the DLC costumes that Capcom released and oh man, I gotta get me dem costumes.
Quash: Star Wars: The Old Republic is having a weekend pass this weekend so I'm going try the game out again for the heck of it. I'm a sucker for free trials and when one shows up, I won't hesitate to give it a try. Aside from that I was able to get my hands on Capcom's Street Fighter X Tekken. While I was not thrilled with the whole gem system and the added Pandora move, the whole game itself is actually fun. My team is going to be Chun Li/ Jin, why? because those characters are actually my main in SF and Tekken and they actually work well together.
Mortal Kombat Vita Gameplay Trailer
When Netherrealm studios announced Mortal Kombat for the Vita, we were shortly presented not only with gameplay identical to it's home console counterpart but a slew of extra mini games and features too. We thought those were plenty but it seems there's more.
Aside from the fluid 60fps Mortal Kombat fighting gameplay that we now know and love, mini games such as igniting falling bombs to juggle the fighters and keep them airborne, fending off incoming missiles by tapping or wiping of blood that gets splattered on the screen using the PS Vita's touchscreeen have been included in the portable version of the latest Mortal Kombat. A few more mini games were showed and one of them is cutting off limbs from a fighter one by one ala a Fatality. Another showed you using Kenshi's psychic powers to ward off projectiles or using the gyroscope to balance a character to prevent them from falling into a pitt. What caught me off guard was the Fruit Ninja like mini game that was shown at about 0:42. It looks just like Fruit Ninja but instead of slicing up fruit, you slice up what appear to be body parts, there are even bombs in the Fruit Ninja mode.
The Vita version of Mortal Kombat looks to be the complete package of the console version and so much more. The only missing feature is online play which is a little sad but local adhoc play is available and is said to run at a perfect 60fps so you're opponent can't blame "the lag" when you rip their spine out.
