Prey 2 not canceled, says Bethesda
With the rumors going around that Prey 2 has been cancelled, Bethesda has finally given an update to put those rumors to rest. The project is not dead, but it's currently not meeting the standards of Bethesda. Thus, the 2012 release date won't be happening anymore.
The delay is due to the fact that game development has not progressed satisfactorily this past year, and the game does not currently meet our quality standards.
Prey 2 was unveiled last year and has been shown to numerous events including last year's E3. During E3, they revealed a playable demo of the game which to me looked amazing. After E3, the developer Human Head went silent for months showing no progress of Prey 2. 2012, the year of it's possible release and no new content was being revealed, then the rumors starting flying of its cancellation.
Production did not go as planned and while Bethesda did not cancel the project, it sounds like it was hanging by a thread.
We are determined only to release the AAA game that fans rightfully expect, and are unwilling to compromise our quality standards to meet a release schedule.
Prey 2 shows a lot of promise from what was shown last year. Hopefully everything goes well over at Human Head.
With Prey 2 out of 2012, Bethesda is not focusing on they're new title Dishonored.

God of War: Ascension announced by online retailer
Rumors have been roaming around the net for a possible God of War IV announcement. Well those rumors are actually spot on, a new God of War is coming, called God of War: Ascension.
Today, Amazon.com posted a possible box art for the game and a teaser trailer that hints the game being a prequel to the five games already out.
From the trailer, it really sounds like it's a prequel. Even before he became the Ghost of Sparta.
Amazon places God of War: Ascension for a December 31, 2013 release, but that release date from these sites usually mean no official date has been announced. But expected to be around 2013.
Is this the new God of War you wanted? A prequel? Or would you rather find out what happens after God of War 3?
I'm good either way. As long as a new God of War game is on the way, I'm happy.
Expect more news coming from Sony about this reveal in the next few days.

Darksiders 2 delay confirmed
THQ's Darksiders 2, planned for a June released, is now pushed back for an August release. People believed that a delay was coming because of the layoffs that happened at THQ but Vigil states the reason of the delay is for game polishing and fixing game bugs.
Two months delay isn't so bad. I'm all for a more polished game rather than a game rushed out the door.
Darksiders is now for an August release for Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. The Wii U version of the game will be released on console release day.

Halo 4 gets a release date
Yes, the series that everybody thought ended is now back with yet another trilogy. Halo 4 is on the way and it now has a release date. Halo fans, Halo 4 is coming on November 6 2012.
Microsoft officially announced the game's release date.
“We are beginning a new saga with ‘Halo 4’ and embarking on a journey that will encompass the next decade of ‘Halo’ games and experience,” said Microsoft Studios boss Phil Spencer.
“Millions of fans worldwide have been eagerly awaiting the opportunity to step back into the boots of Master Chief, and with ‘Halo 4’ leading the charge, we’re confident 2012 will be the most successful year in Xbox history.”
Most successful year in Xbox history? Pretty accurate since were talking about Halo here, the flagship game of the Xbox. No game footage yet, but it's definitely going to be the same game but with Master Chief's story moving forward, and of course some changes in multiplayer. Take note though, this is the first Halo title without Bungie. Bungie has said goodbye to the Halo series when they completed all DLC content for Halo: Reach. 343 Industries is now in charge of the new Halo trilogy.
