Soul Sacrifice - A twisted PS Vita action horror game
Soul Sacrifice. An action horror game coming to the PS Vita. If you actually have a list of games you can't wait to get for your Vita, maybe you should also add this into your list. It's from the mind of Keiji Inafune, one of the creators of Mega Man that apparently has a twisted mind to conceptualize a game like this.
You play as a Sorcerer's slave, who is now in prison to be sacrificed to some demon. he then finds a book containing someones journal and I believe that's where he starts reading of this guy's rebellion again this sorcerer and the demons. That's what I understand so far about the game's story but the interesting thing about Soul Sacrifice is that in order for players to use specific abilities or magic, they need to make a sacrifice.
Soul Sacrifice - Teaser trailer
What the character did in the teaser is pretty much him sacrificing his own spine to wield that creepy looking sword named Excalibur. Problem is, no spine = death. That's pretty much the core concept on the game's gameplay - Sacrificing game environments and even parts of your body to use certain abilities. Sacrificing your own blood, your eyes, fingers, and certain objects in the environment can be sacrificed to perform certain magics. Pretty interesting stuff.
Soul Sacrifice will also support 4 player co-op. Everybody loves co-op and I'm sure this will be the game's biggest selling point. I wonder if you can sacrifice your own teammate though?
The game so far looks amazing on the Vita. That handheld sure has a lot of power in it. A presentation was held showcasing the game and thanks to Sony, they released a dubbed version of that presentation for the people who don't speak Japanese. Best parts are really Part 1 and 2 since you actually see gameplay of the game. If music is your thing, you might get a kick of part 2 of the presentation.
Soul Sacrifice Presentation Part 1 - Story, concept, offscreen single player gameplay
Soul Sacrifice Presentation Part 2 - Sound score, game sound
Soul Sacrifice Presentation Part 3 - 4 player co-op
It was just revealed in Japan on May 10 and so far, no word if this game will receive an english version. I have no doubt it will get an english port, the question now is when will it happen?

Max Payne 3's launch trailer is out
Rockstar Games released a launch trailer for Max Payne 3, reminding us of its release next week. It's out on May 15 for Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.
Man I wish I could get this game but I already know where all my gaming time will be spent on next week. For me, this will have to wait.
Gamers in the Philippines - If you haven't pre-ordered the game but plan to, you still got time to do so. Datablitz is still offering, but the reward for making a pre-order isn't the strongest incentive.
Assassin's Creed 3 Debut Gameplay trailer
Amazing, it only took 3 days to have enough shares, tweets, and likes to unlock Assassin's Creed 3's debut gameplay trailer. AC3 fans sure love to tweet. This is first look at in-game footage and gameplay, and I have to say; it's looking pretty good for pre-alpha stages.
I lost interest in Assassin's Creed when I finished the second game and didn't even bother touching Brotherhood or Revelations. But thanks to this trailer, it got me interested again. Not sure what got me - The fact that you can ambush soldiers in the woods or the fact that you get to fight bears.
Assassin's Creed 3 is out on October 31 for the Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. The game is also hitting the Wii U when the console launches.
Play the game that started the FPS genre on your browser
In celebration of Wolfenstein 3D's 20th anniversary, Bethesda released the browser version of the game free of cost. For the people who love FPS games - If you want to know what created your beloved genre, this is it.
You can start playing this classic just by visiting this link.
I've been playing the browser version for a while now and thanks to shooters we play today, the controls took awhile to get used to. First time players will be shocked with the number of lacking features that come standard now to modern-day shooters. For instance, the game didn't even need you to reload your gun. I was literally pressing R on reaction, because that's just what you do in games like these.
While playing, it made me realize one thing - Modern day shooters are too damn linear. The need to explore in order to survive the stage are close to non-existent now in modern-day shooters. Sure, there are games that provide a less linear experience, but there isn't enough going around. Nowadays, it's pretty much go to point A to point B by following that damn arrow. Oh, and stay in cover if you need to recover. The fear of getting lost and dying isn't the same nowadays. Playing Wolfenstein 3D made me miss that. I'm playing the game on the second to the last highest difficulty and the need to explore to find those health packs and ammo in order to stay alive brought extra fun out of this classic.
Id Software created Wolfenstein 3D and even the Doom series, which again was the first of its kind. Rage is the latest title from Id Software and is one of the best looking shooters out there thus far.If you haven't got a chance to try Rage, I suggest you give it a try.
The iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad version of the game called Wolfenstein 3D Classic Platinum is also said to be free for a limited time only.
Bioshock Infinite delayed to 2013
Well, #$%$! 2K just announced that Bioshock Infinite has been pushed back way out of 2012 and into 2013. The new release date is now February 26, 2013. The delay is for Irrational Games to make an even better Bioshock Infinite. I understand that, but 5 five month delay is needed?
Delay to make a great game even greater is always welcome. Irrational games are really testing people's patience with this big delay, then again this isn't the first time this has happened to big titles.
Ken levine, Creative Director for Bioshock Infinite made a statement regarding the delay:
When we announced the release date of BioShock Infinite in March, we felt pretty good about the timing.
Since then, we’ve come to realize that some specific tweaks and improvements will make Infinite into something even more extraordinary. Therefore, to give our talented team the time they need, we’ve decided to move the game’s release to February 26, 2013. We wanted to let our loyal (and very patient!) fans know this as soon as possible.
I won’t kid you: BioShock Infinite is a very big game, and we’re doing things that no one has ever done in a first-person shooter. We had a similar experience with the original BioShock, which was delayed several months as our original ship date drew near. Why? Because the Big Daddies weren’t the Big Daddies you’ve since come to know and love. Because Andrew Ryan’s golf club didn’t have exactly the right swing. Because Rapture needed one more coat of grimy Art Deco.
The same principle now applies to BioShock Infinite.
What does this mean for you? It means a bit more waiting, but more importantly, it means an even better BioShock Infinite. The great can be made greater, and we owe it to both ourselves and to you, our fans, to take this opportunity. Irrational Games is one of those rare developers lucky enough to ask the people who sign the checks: “Hey, can we have a few more of those checks?”
We are also going to hold off on showing BioShock Infinite at the big events of the summer, like E3 and Gamescom. That way, the next time you see our game, it will be essentially the product we intend to put in the box. Preparing for these events takes time away from development, time we’re going to use instead to get the best version of Infinite into your hands in February.
Also announcing that it will be absent in big events such as E3 and gamescom to further focus on development? That's commitment. Respect Irrational games. Hopefully you won't do this again though, I really want to get my hands on this game already.
