E3 2012: Dead Island: Riptide announced, already priced

Dead Island: Riptide During E3 2012, Deep Silver released a surprise announcement of a new Dead Island game. Whether you hate it or not, a new game is being developed and its an entirely new game. Aside from it being announced, online retailers have given a legit price point for the game. With no screenshots or any information about Riptide, the game will cost $50.

With the lowered price point, people wondered why that is. Apparently, when asked about the lowered price, a Deep Silver employee confirmed by saying:

“That’s not a placeholder :) that’s the real price! It’s the end of a console cycle- we think this price makes a lot more sense given that :)”

With that said, not only does this confirms the games price point, it also confirms that next generation console are not far away. Sony and Microsoft are obviously not talking about next generation yet, but it's definitely coming and I predict announcements sometime around next year. Nintendo has already kicked off the next generation of consoles with the Wii U. The presentation for the new console is still pretty underwhelming after two E3 presentations about it, but if I remember correctly, Sony didn't have a great start with the reveal of the Playstation 3 too, so we'll see how it all turns out. But from where the Wii U stands at this point, I can honestly say it's still not worth the purchase. Nintendo has yet to impress me.

Recent Buys: Episode 10 - Kaioken x320gig!

FOOTDIVE

My cousin just came back from America where he got a summer job so he hella rich at the moment. And with that cash we took a quick trip to Greenhills and basically burned it all in less than an hour. Mostly at just the one shop. bud's ps3 02

He went and got a metallic red 320gig PlayStation 3 Slim. We got it for 12800php (cash price) at Mr. Dynamic, the same place where I got Ziggy. Along with that he got Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 at the same shop for 1300php (cash price) and a 2nd PS3 Dual-Shock3 controller for 1800php (cash price).

We wanted to test out UMvC3 first so the game installed itself after popping the disc in so while waiting we went around GH. I spotted the D-Arts Zero Type-2 and my cousin told me that he owed me a birthday gift so he paid for most of the cost of the figure and I got myself both X and Zero, awesome stuff. Thanks Bud!

BFFs for life

After we returned for the PS3 and packed it up, a dude saw what we were carrying and call out "sir, 2nd-hand PS3 games?" and I thought to myself "hmm.. why not look at their wares". I saw that they had a copy of Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit.

damn you DIMPS

I've been looking for this game for quite some time. I've been meaning to get that, Dragon Ball Z: Raging Blast 2 and then finally Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Tenkaichi. I've seen Raging Blast 2 in Datablitz so that can wait and the only copies of Ultimate Tenkaichi I've seen are R1 copies so they be hella expensive. Burst limit is the only I haven't encountered till yesterday so I got the dan thing for 500php. It didn't come with the manual and the case looks to be a bit yellowed from sun exposure but the disc was still fine and runs like a charm. The game is far from perfect though and maybe I'll get to that next time.

Weekend, what are you playing?

gandamu

E3 2012 is done and we've been graced with a lot of delicious news, hella plenty trailers, and tons of gameplay.  But those new games aren't out yet, what are you playing?

Migoy: I accompanied my cousin to Greenhills VMall yesterday because he was going to get his first console bought with his own hard earned money.

He picked up this bad boy, a metallic red 320gig PlayStation 3 Slim . One of the latest released of the Ps3 slim from Sony with a gorgeous metallic paint job along with a chrome plate that holds the power and eject buttons. The embossed PS3 logo on the top is also chrome plated as opposed to the regular gloss plastic. Similar to me, his first game was also Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 which I still think is the hypest of hype. It looks like I won't be able to fraud my way to a win against him and his bros. since they have something to practice on now.

While testing out his brand new PS3, of course we popped in UMvC3 because we had to let the game update first and it seemed only fitting that that would be the first game his PS3 plays. UMvC3 was the main motivator for the purchase. After that I decided to lend them my copy of Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition since they mentioned that they played it at the arcade a few days back and even though UMvC3 is awesome, one can still get tired from playing a single fighting game for too long plus all the salt could ruin a good relationship between brothers. The game updated after downloading a hell of a lot of updates and we only played one match. I felt the huge difference between SSF4AE and Street Fighter x Tekken. Those games make look very similar but they are hella different.

I just got myself a 2nd-hand copy of Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit and we played a bunch of that too. It sucks that you are forced to play a somewhat bad "story mode" just to unlock the characters. Sure unlocking stuff is fun but c'mon, only 3 characters available at the start?

Before all the PS3 buying and spending a ton of money in less than an hour, me and my cousin played Mobile Suit Gundam EXTREME VS. Seriously, so much has changed from Next Plus that it looks like I have to completely relearn the game from the ground up. Plus the AI is mega cheap. Does anyone know if that game has 4-player VS? Because if so then I definitely have to save up and get two more PS3 controllers. The PS2 adapter doesn't work for EXTREME VS.

Now I'm off to watch the Pacquiao vs Bradley fight, happy weekend everyone!

Diablo 3

Quash: Still at it with Diablo 3. During the start of the weekend I continued my 42 Barbarian in hopes to get the guy to level 60 by the end of the week. Needed a break from my Demon Hunter. He's currently at act 3 on Inferno and the fact that everything one shots me is pretty scary. I did manage to progress by killing Siegebreaker, the second boss in Act 3, but now I'm stuck at the wave of enemies after him. Inferno is loads of fun(For gamers than want a challenge) and I want to feel Inferno as melee. I hear Blizzard is going to change a few things in Inferno to make things easier. I don't want that, so I'm really rushing my Barbarian to 60 to play Inferno before the announced nerf. As I write this, my Barbarian is now at level 51 in Hell Difficulty. Just 9 more to go!

Family Feudin' | Return of the Prodigal Bud

dat photoshop There's nothing better than having fun with your family and friends. Here at TooMuchGaming we like to have fun by playing video games.

My cousin just came home from his summer vacation in America. He passed by here since he dropped by his school (which is near my place) and brought his two brothers along with him and what perfect way to celebrate his return then by letting the salt flow in a couple of fighting games.

First up was of course Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, the fighting game that brings the most salt and yet is still the hypest thing around. We maybe scrubs but we love this game. After that was a little bit of Street Fighter x Tekken. 4-player scrable mode equals mayhem. A little bit of Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike was played but we didn't hang there long. I also had them try out Skullgirls but wasn't streamed because I had display setup the wrong way.

After all the fighting games we went into one of the best 4-player games out there, NBA JAM. I have NBA JAM: On Fire Edition saved on my PS3 and we used to play the bejeezus out of NBA JAM on the Wii. With some awkward games at the start since we had to adjust ourselves with the PS3's controls, we eventually got the hang of things (for the most part) and had a blast. I know it may not be the most entertaining thing to watch but I archived what was streamed to my personal youtube channel and made a playlist for them.

These games weren't played in sequence since we switched things up but I grouped the games together to avoid confusion. Part 1 for both UMvC3 and NBA JAM I forgot to change the audio source to my laptop microphone so that's why you'll hear game audio, skip to part 2 to hear us being stupid while having hella fun.

I used Flash Media Live Encoder to stream this with the video bitrate set to only 350kbps due to my low upload speed (0.47kbps) but the videos are still very watchable. Just don't expect anything remotely close to HD.
