PSN - Borderlands PS Plus September game, new discounts coming
Next update for PS Plus has been revealed. If you haven't played Borderlands and subscribed to PS Plus, you're in luck. Borderlands joins the "Instant Game Collection" this September, as long as you're a PS Plus member, you can download and start playing Borderlands for free. Good timing too with Borderlands 2 coming out in a few weeks.
If you want to get the whole Borderlands package, all DLC content for the game will be 50% off. If you feel like getting only a DLC or two instead of the whole bundle, I suggest getting Claptrap's Robot Revolution and The Secret Armory of General Knoxx, best DLC's among the four available.
Together with Borderlands, the update include some discounts:
Lights, Camera, Party! - Regular price: $29.99, PS Plus price: $15.00
Space Channel 5: Part 2 - PSN sale price: $4.99, PS Plus price: $2.99
Spelunker HD (With DLC) - Regular price: $9.99, PS Plus price: $5.00
Daytona USA - Regular price: $4.99, PS Plus price: $2.99
Greed Corp - PSN sale price: $4.99, PS Plus price: $2.50
Space Channel 5: Part 2 and Spelunker HD goes live first on August 28. Borderlands, Greed Corp, and Daytona USA will then go live on September 4.

Guild Wars 2 - First level 80 character spotted in the wild
According to mmoculture, someone has already hit level 80 in Guild Wars 2. A player named Surfeuze hit the max level by just simply crafting, with the help of his fellow guildmates providing materials for it. Yes, you heard me, a crafter. Surfeuze is a member of the French guild War Legend, so props to him for being the first level 80 character.
I'll tell you this, it's not easy, especially when your trying to level via crafting. It was clearly a team effort and congrats to them on earning world first.
Getting world first in something isn't really my thing, but it is for some and it's amazing to hear this was done by crafting. I never guessed that would be the fastest way. But I really hope he does himself a favor and creates another character, because he's clearly missing out. It's an amazing game and with the world first now in the bag, he deserves to enjoy the game.
Are you into reaching max level as fast as possible in MMO's?
I'm currently level 28(Yes, very addicted) and is slowly taking my time, completing all maps, crafting items, and figure out these interesting mini-dungeons that require you to actually think. I'm hooked.
The game officially launches tom.
Mass Effect 3: Leviathan DLC trailer
Bioware released a new trailer for Mass Effect 3's upcoming DLC. This single player add-on has Commander Shepard in search for something called 'Leviathan', who has enough power to destroy reapers.
The free Mass Effect 3 DLC streak has ended. For the 'Leviathan' DLC, you'll need to give up $10/800 MS points to play the extra content. It's due for release on Aug 28 for PSN, Xbox Live, and PC.
Weekend, what are you playing?
It's the last weekend of August and another long weekend for what I'm guessing is most of us here in the Philippines which means more game time! What are you playing?
Migoy: I haven't been able to stream all week due to me playing a lot of Persona 4 Arena online and since I just purchased Counter-Strike: Global Offensive yesterday, I've been playing a bit of that online too. With the limit upload speed I have, I need all that I can get when palying online games.
Quash: This weekend, and most likely for the next couple of weekends, I'll be playing Guild Wars 2. The three day head start has begun and I've been playing non-stop!
The game's launch was off to a good start. No login issues when servers went live and it ran smoothly for seven hours straight, until... servers went down. Just when I thought a completely smooth launch was possible, I was unable to play for 2+ hours. Not a big deal though, I've experienced way worse. I actually commend ArenaNet for providing no hiccups for the first few hours. After the short down time, it hasn't happened again so kudos to them. Not the best since the online trading post is still offline, but definitely not the worst.
I am now level 21 on my Charr Engineer. Gameplay's great, sounds great, even the hoards of players banding up to steamroll one dyamic quest is great. Well, enough of this, time to jump back in.
Recent Buys: Episode 12 - Sticks and stones may break my bones but bullets will surely hurt me
It's been a while since I've made a Recent Buys post and as you may have guessed, the purchases have piled up since the last post.
I'm going to do this chronologically which starts off with something big. This was the biggest single purchased item on my current list. I finally stepped it up, arcade stick wise, by getting myself the Hori Real Arcade Pro V3 Sa. Purchased brand new for 6500php, I am happy to say that I do not regret buying this. My transition from pad to stick is still a awkward depending on the game but for the most part I am leaning towards sticking with the arcade stick.

Next up is another arcade stick and this time it's the Hori Fighting Stick Mini 3 for PS3. From what I gather, this is a fairly new stick from Hori and as of this posting I haven't found any solid reviews for it yet which peaked my curiosity for it. Since I couldn't find a review of it online I decided to make one myself and I am very impressed with this budget arcade stick.
Third on my list could possibly be a candidate for my favorite game of 2012 and that is Persona 4 Arena, or in my case it's Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena since my PS3 could only play the R3 release. This game is so much and with it's magic netcode, this is the only fighting game that I can enjoy playing online.

Last up is the most recent of the bunch (happening only yesterday) and is a $20 PSN card. For what reason did I buy a $20 card? I got it mainly for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Yeah yeah I can already hear everyone saying "why get it on PS3 when it's so much better on PC?". The main reason for that is because my PC can't run it. Sure lobbies on PC can max out at 32 players per room while PSN can only have up to 10. But remember that the PS3 version does support cross-platform play meaning that I can also play with or against steam users online.
This is more of a runner up that anything but it still counts. CS:GO is $14.99 on PSN which left me with $5. I used the remaining $5 to get episode 2 of The Walking Dead game. Episode 1 was such a blast and I remember that episode 2 is already out. I remember getting episode 1 with the money left over after getting Skullgirls so a similar scenario happened in the case of episode 2. I would have gotten a PSone classic instead but the cheapest PSone classics title is going for $5.99 and I was 98 cents short.
