World of Warcraft's latest expansion, Battle for Azeroth, went live yesterday and of course someone has reached the new level cap of 120 in record time.
Gingi, a member of the guild Method, hit the new cap in under four hours and seventeen minutes. This breaks the previous record, which was set at five hours and twenty eight minutes back in 2016, during the Legion expansion launch.
You can watch the moment Gingi reached level 120 above.
This wasn't a solo effort by any means. With the help of two other guild members; Meeres and Deeshades, Gingi and his crew spent most of their time in the expansion's beta to plan and find the fastest questing route. That means skipping a good chunk of the content found in the new expansion and focusing quests that give the most experience as quickly as possible.
This isn't much of a surprised anymore since racing to be the first in any content Blizzard releases for World of Warcraft is a typical occurrence within the community. Once a new batch of raid content goes live, guilds race towards the new content, to see if they can be the first guild in the world to clear the new dungeon.
