Activision has officially confirmed the various rumors that the next Call of Duty game will be Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. The full reveal of the game will be within Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s Warzone on August 26, 2020.
For now, all we get is this chilling teaser video titled ‘Know Your History’. Have a look below.
The teaser focuses on real-life KGB defector Yuri Bezmenov explaining the stages used in crippling a nation from within through disinformation. It then reveals Black Ops Cold War’s log, the full reveal date, and confirming that developers Treyarch and Raven are working on this title.
It’s hard to keep a secret nowadays in this industry as rumors back in June were swirling about this year’s call of duty game, saying that the next entry is a new entry in the Black Ops series, set in the cold war. Apparently, they were right.
The last Black Ops title was Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, the first title in the series that didn’t feature a single-player campaign mode. Instead, we were given the series first take on the battle royale format called Blackout. This time around, I doubt we will see a new version of Blackout as Call of Duty: Warzone is doing great on all platforms as a free-to-play title and it will be interesting on how they will match Warzone with Cold War.

Dragon's Dogma 2 feels better in 2026. After 10 hours back in Capcom's action RPG, I'm enjoying its improved fast travel, smoother performance, and challenging new dungeons in the Dark Arisen expansion.
Bungie's October 2026 refresh gives Marathon's economy a much-needed reset, but the extraction shooter still has major problems that hold it back.
Warhammer Survivors launches November 10, 2026, with over 40 playable characters, 75+ weapons, and a playable demo available now.
The amount of effort seen here gives me hope for Capcom’s future attempts at reviving classic titles, as Onimusha: Way of the Sword, the latest title of the once dormant classic franchise, comes back in the best way possible as it very well might be my game of the year contender.
I’ve spent over 10 hours with RuneScape: Dragonwilds, taking on its survival challenges alone on Hard mode. It’s a fun game, but its slow progression has me wondering if it can keep me hooked.
