Expect Diablo IV And Overwatch 2 To Not Launch This Year
If you are hoping for a new big release from Blizzard, don’t hold your breath as during a recent earnings call for the fourth quarter of 2020, Activision Blizzard revealed that they do not expect either Overwatch 2 or Diablo IV to be part of its 2021 financials. That means both games will launch in 2022 or even later.
Video game journalist and presenter Goeff Keighley was one of the many that broke the news once the details of the call was available.

Take note that release dates for either Overwatch 2 or Diablo IV was never announced since they were officially revealed to the public. But this, at the very least, gives Blizzard fans of either series a better picture as what to expect from BlizzConline 2021 this month, the online-only BlizzCon event replacing Blizzcon 2020, which was cancelled due to the ongoing pandemic.
BlizzConline is happening on February 19-20 and will likely reveal more details on Overwatch 2 and Diablo IV. Blizzard is also celebrating their 30th anniversary this February, and with it being Blizzcon, which is very known to make big surprise announcements for the company —like the upcoming Diablo Immortal mobile game coming this year — it’s safe to say that you can expect some sort of surprise that could catch us off guard.
We’ll just have to wait and see. BlizzConline is free to watch online through their official website.
