Forspoken Delayed Again, Now Releasing January 2023
Square Enix and developer Luminous Productions announced that they’ve decided to delay their open world action RPG Forspoken to January 24, 2023. It was originally slated for an October 2021 release.
In their announcement, the publisher mentioned that “As a result of ongoing discussions with key partners, we have made the strategic decision to move the launch date”.
It seems all game elements of Forspoken are complete and all that’s left is further polish and they would need more time to do so. This is the second major delay for Forspoken as it was once planned for a May 2022 release, but was then pushed to October 2022, citing that further polish was needed.
Forspoken was revealed back in 2020 under the name Project Athia. You follow a woman named Frey from New York, who finds herself transported to the fantasy land of Athia, where she has magical abilities.
Forspoken will be available on PS5 and PC.
Arc System Works nailed Tokon and showed once again why they are one of the best in the genre. While it’s too soon to know if this game will perfectly fill the tag team Marvel void in the fighting game community, it launched with a respectable package perfect for everyone.
