Mass Effect Legendary Edition has gone GOLD! It's been quite a journey - time to celebrate briefly. Maybe even dance a little... if that's you're thing. #MassEffect #Legendary pic.twitter.com/cvDmGjFrSi

Reaching the ‘gold’ status is the developers way of saying that their project has been signed off as ready for launch and to be mass produced, ideally reaching the current release date set for the product.
Mass Effect Legendary Edition is a remaster of the first 3 Mass Effect titles - Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2, and Mass Effect 3. You can read up on the big changes to all three games here, but essentially, this version features improved visual and technical performance in all games with tweaks to gameplay, especially in the first Mass Effect. They even included Mass Effect 3’s default female Commander Shepard in Mass Effect 1 and 2, giving players the option to play as that version of Commander Shepard at the beginning of her journey.
It will be a long wait until the next entry in the Mass Effect franchise as it was only announced back in late 2020 during The Game Awards. But we have the legendary edition to keep us busy for the time being.
Mass Effect Legendary Edition will be available on May 14, 2021 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. This version of the game will also be playable through the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
