Watch Dogs: Legion's Multiplayer Delayed, Now Launching Next Year
Watch Dogs: Legion’s multiplayer modes was originally planned for a December 3 release this year for free, but due to a series of bugs and issues that has plagued the game since launch, Ubisoft announced that they will focus on resolving the current issues for the rest of the year.
“Since the launch of Watch Dogs: Legion, some of you continue to have technical issues preventing you from enjoying the game. The dev team is committed to fixing these issues and will not stop until everyone can experience the game as intended.” says Ubisoft in a patch update, announcing the multiplayer delay.
A 2.20 patch is planned to roll out this week on the PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC. This patch tackles a few issues like crash fixes in consoles, adding a manual save button on the PC version, and a few instability issues that were experienced during certain missions.
The delay naturally gives the developers “more time to test the Online experience to help ensure a smooth launch of the mode."
When Legion’s multiplayer launches, players can opt to play in a free-roam cooperative mode for 2-4 players as well as PVP challenges.

Until Dawn 2 was revealed at Sony's June 2026 State of Play. Developed by Firesprite, the PS5 sequel follows a new cast of ghost hunters on a tropical island, launching in 2027.
