Lollipop Chainsaw
Shadows of the Damned has come and gone and we already have info on the next Suda51 game. This time it's about a Cheerleader that kills zombies who squirt pink blood.
From [4playerpodcast];
Japanese mag Famitsu now has details and screenshots of a new Grasshopper Manufacture game being developed called “Lollipop Chainsaw.” Reportedly, it’s about a cheerleader, raised by zombie hunters, who goes on a zombie killing rampage using a magical chainsaw. Oh and the zombie spray pink blood all over the screen.
It’s basically an ultra-sexy Buffy the Vampire slayer on large doses of Suda51-acid. And, of course, zombies instead of vampires.
Andriasang is reporting that Suda51 is the creative director with Akira Yamaoka handling the sound design.
Just take a look at the screenshots from Famitsu below and stand in awe at what the game can be. Rumors hint at an Xbox 360 and PS3 release so long as the horrible sales of Shadows of the Damned don’t get in the way of its development.
Chinese couple sell their kids to pay for an MMO
I literally had a wide eyed "WTF" face for about 3 whole seconds when I heard about this. Two parents have been apprehended by Chinese authorities after having sold their three children to fund their MMO addiction.
From [Destructoid];
Li Lin and Li Juan sold their baby daughter for roughly $500, their first son for around $4600, and their second son for the same price. Li Lin's mother contacted officials after she had found out what happened, and the couple was taken into custody.
According to reports, the couple didn't know that selling babies so they could play computer games was illegal. In a country where political prisoners are forced into MMO gold-farming labor, it's hard to distinguish the lines, I guess.
"We don’t want to raise them, we just want to sell them for some money," said the couple, when asked if they missed them. To be fair, you can't fault them for their honesty.

Ubisoft joins the ranks of Online Passes
Online passes will consume us all. Ubisoft will soon begin shipping versions of their most popular games with an Online Pass code which will be handled through UPlay.
Called Uplay Passport, it will be required to access “bonus content, exclusive offers, and online multiplayer play”, according to company statements. For players who buy the games used, they will have to purchase the code for around $10. Driver: San Francisco will be the first game to use Uplay Passport.
... We're doomed.
Sony Becomes 1st First-Party to Institute Online Passes
Oh noes. Following in the footsteps of THQ, EA, and Warner Bros., Sony has confirmed that they will be the first first-party to include an online pass with their game to unlock some, hopefully not all, of a game's online features. This is rumored to be called PSN Pass.
New copies of games will come with a one-time-use only code that can be used to access online play. What this means is much like previous games that require a pass to play online, players who buy the game used will have to shell out a fee for a new code. For now, the price point is still unknown. Sony has confirmed that Resistance 3 will be the first game to have this feature / restriction.
And there it is, so much for PSN being free. We all knew this was coming when EA copied THQ regarding this online pass business. Capcom might be starting a new "screw over the players" trend with their whole Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D undeletable save game bit to, from what I'm guessing is, destroy the used game market.
