Weekend, what are you playing?
Another week, and another weekend post. Telltale's The Walking Dead was released this week and when the announcement hit the internet, I already knew what I'll be doing during the weekend. What are you guys playing this weekend? Hit the comments when you can.
Quash: The Walking Dead: Episode 2 was definitely worth the wait. Still wished Telltale would release each episode every week because just like any good series, I'm hooked. If you loved the first episode, you won't be disappointed in episode 2. Gameplay is still the same but the story is definitely getting better. You can feel the change in each character based on your decisions and the good writing does a good enough job to care about each person(except Larry). Episode 1 and 2 is well worth the $5 price, heck getting the whole bundle for $20 is worth it. I did 2 playthrough's to see how each choice changes the story, and it's actually worth making multiple games. Episode 2 is about 2-3 hours long.
After The Walking Dead, I went back to Diablo 3 for a bit to do a little farming. The addicting to this game isn't like before but it's still there. With DPS at 120k(SS) on my Demon Hunter, doing Inferno on Act 1 and Act 2 is a breeze. I do get one shot still since I built my guy as a Glass Cannon, so I still need to pay attention when playing. Repair costs are 5 times the amount since the 1.0.3 patch, so dying over and over again isn't an option unless you have millions of gold.
Migoy: Didn't really get to play much this weekend but since it was the first weekend showing of The Amazing Spider-man movie and with it's game just being released I popped in my GameCube copy of Spider-man 2 to revisit the 1st introduction of open-world web swinging to the Spider-man games. I watched a few reviews for The Amazing Spider-man game and saw a few things that I didn't like but after seeing the movie, it added fuel to my hype for the game. I might pick it up while I still got the hype for it but I've only seen R1 copies of it at Datablitz which is a little too expensive at the moment. Hopefully a 2nd hand copy emerges shortly or the stores get R3 copies soon.
Capcom releases a new Monster Hunter 4 trailer with a new logo
Capcom finally released new info about Monster Hunter 4. Since the game's reveal, Capcom hasn't really shown much about the 3DS exclusive. But now they released a new action-packed trailer with a brand spanking new logo. Feels like a re-reveal thanks to the logo. Trailer also reveals the game's release, which is spring 2013 for Japan.
Monster Hunter was my game of choice back then in handheld gaming and the 4th game is looking pretty good. So good that I might just consider getting a 3DS. Funny how grabbing onto a huge monster can make the game look so much better and it took them four MH games to implement it. Slashing boss ankles are not so cool nowadays.

Guild Wars 2 finally gets a release date
Its official: Guild Wars 2 finally has a release date! No more speculations, no more rumors, this is straight from ArenaNet's mouth - Guild Wars 2 will be released on August 28, 2012. Stock up your fridges and make the preparations to call in sick, because its only two months away.
In ArenaNet's official blog site, the released date was revealed in their latest post together with a message about the final Beta Weekend:
This is an incredibly momentous day for the studio and for me personally. This journey began in 2007 when we first announced that we were beginning work onGuild Wars 2 and that you wouldn’t be hearing from us for a while. Then in 2010 we unveiled our manifesto for Guild Wars 2: a living breathing online world that challenges convention, that’s designed for fun instead of grind, and that brings social interaction to a new level in an online world.
Through all the long hours and hard decisions, we were bolstered by the knowledge that we were not in this alone. All along you’ve been there for us, cheering us on, supporting us when we needed it, testing early versions of the game, and above all, giving us your honest feedback every step of the way. Guild Wars 2 is a better game for all of the work that our community has put in.
Now that we’re just two months away from launch, we’ll spend our remaining time optimizing, polishing, and balancing the game, to ensure that we provide you with the best launch-day experience we possibly can.
To this end, I’m excited to announce that our next and final Beta Weekend Event is planned for July 20-22.
These are exciting times; we’re on the cusp of a new era in online roleplaying games, and we’re glad you’re on this journey with us.
We’ll see you in-game.
So after the last Beta Weekend, it will feel like a long wait. But hey, fans of the game have been waiting for the sequel for years, a few weeks is nothing if you ask me.
Pre-purchase of Guild Wars 2 is still available, so if your still planning to get the game digitally to be able to play on day one, click on this link now.
