Recent Buys: Episode 13 - Max Anarchy
Max Anarchy (Anarchy Reigns in the US) is sort of in "localization limbo" right now since SEGA delayed the US release for another year. The Japanese version has complete English menus, voices, etc in the game which means that the game is complete. Instead of waiting for another year for a game that might not even see the light of US shores, I took matters into my own hands and imported the game.
I have many reasons for wanting this game. Let me name a few. It's made by Platinum Games. I like action games. It features Bayonetta. It features Jack from MadWorld. And it features Bayonetta. Bayonetta is actually available as DLC and I needed to make a Japanese PSN account to use the redeem code included. I had my copy of Max Anarchy imported by GreatToysOnline.com and it took about 5 weeks for the game to arrive and the game is in great condition. If you guys want any Japanese games imported, I'd recommend you conttact the folks at GreatToysOnline.com.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Zombies details emerge, trailer also out
You into zombie slaying? Yea sure you are! Why do you think there's tons of zombie games out now. Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 comes out on November, and just like the first game, it will have its very own zombies mode. Treyarch has finally spilled the beans on the changes to Zombies, plus a trailer featuring one of the three game modes for zombies.
Above is a game mode called Tranzit, a campaign mode that lets you and three friends ride a bus heading to location after location picking up supplies and killing zombies. When reaching each location, you are tasked to hold off the incoming zombie horde until you are allowed to move on to the next area. To travel to the next area, you can go by bus or by foot, and the zombies won't stop coming, so holding the horde off continue even as you go forward.
It's a good change, but just in case you want the traditional horde-like mode seen in the first game, they have that too. Survival mode is all about survival. Building defenses and pretty much see how long you guys can last. No word yet on the changes done, but its good to know they didn't scrap the old for the new.
Were not done yet, there's still one more mode to be introduced, and this one is a bit more in the competitive side. The last mode is called Grief. It's a 4 versus 4 match where you try to outlive your competition. You can't kill each other the conventional way, what you can do though is make the zombies do the killing for you. Of course, they haven't went into much detail on how you get to do that. I can already imagine hilarious moments coming out of Grief mode.
Looks like Treyarch put a lot of thought into Zombies this time around. Three game modes for zombies? Sounds good to me.
I have pretty high expectations for Black Ops 2. I bought the first game mainly because of Zombies, but to my surprise it turned out to be one of the best Call of Duty games I've ever played. I Was not feeling the whole futuristic setting for the sequel, but the changes in Zombies got me back into the hype. Oh and multiplayer? Been there, done that.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown, Dishonored, and surprisingly Black Ops 2(That Zombie Mode) are on my day 1 buy list. Resident Evil 6 was supposed to be on the list, but I have this feeling to not jump the gun on this one. I played the public demo a couple of days ago and it actually gave me second thoughts about getting it.
What about you? What are you planning to get on the day it gets released?
Mass Effect Trilogy coming this November
Bioware just announced Mass Effect Trilogy, which is pretty much all Mass Effect games wrapped up in one neat package. It's out on November and it will be available on Xbox 360, and PC. For PS3 though, the trilogy will be released on a later date.
It will be released on November 6, 2012 for Xbox 360, and PC. It will be priced at $59.99.
The first Mass Effect is finally heading to Playstation 3. I'm pretty sure they are currently working on porting the game to the PS3, which is why the PS3 version of the trilogy is planned for a later date. I didn't think they would bother to bring Mass Effect 1 to the PS3, but I guess they had to because of this package. Wouldn't be much of a trilogy without the first, now would it?
as you can see above, it will include all three games, and an exclusive artbook, all wrapped up in a premium foil box.

If you're not into have your own physical copy, this would be perfect for you. I still prefer walking up on a store, lining up to get your copy of the game.
This goes to show that digital copies could potentially replace physical copies in the near future. PC games are mostly digital nowadays thanks to Steam, and programs like this pushes that same method into consoles. You will have players with tons of games on accounts rather that in your shelves.
Do you still prefer physical copies of your product? Or are you fine with digital copies?
